New Year's Eve in Santa Fe

It's New Year Eve in Santa Fe, and after stopping in at our nightly Social Hour, guests of The Madeleine Bed and Breakfast Inn will be looking for festive spots around to town to bring in the new year.

For a bit of wildness, check out either Rouge Cat or The Cowgirl.  Rouge Cat is rolling out the red carpet for their Paparazzi Glitter Ball.  Enjoy music, dancing and frivolity with a local favorite, DJ Oona.  This event, which includes a midnight champagne toast and party favors, runs from 8pm until 2pm.  The Cowgirl, which can be a bit rowdy any night of the year, will be featuring the music of Chango, a high-energy band with heavy influence from Santana.

For a more culturally-based New Year's, check out El Farol, on Upper Canyon Road.  They are featuring a Flamenco Dinner Show, which begins with dinner at 6:30, followed by an exciting and passionate dance performance at 8pm, featuring the dancers of the National Flamenco Institute.

Lastly, consider a midnight ride on the Santa Fe Southern Railway.  The train departs the downtown Santa Fe station at 10pm.  As you ride through the high desert, enjoying the spectacular night skies of New Mexico, you will be treated to hors d'oeuvres, desserts and a midnight champagne toast, along with music and fireworks.

Happy New Year to one and all!
