Sing the Blues with Buddy Guy

There is much to do in Santa Fe this weekend for our guests at The Madeleine Bed & Breakfast Inn, and for those staying on through Monday, I highly recommend seeing blues legend Buddy Guy.  This 75 year old pioneer of the Chicago blues will be performing at the fabulous Lensic Performing Arts Center on Monday, September 19 at 7:30pm.

Buddy Guy, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and winner of Five Grammys, was a major influence on such guitar heavyweights as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.  Not only is he an incredible musician, Guy has an inspiring background.  He grew up on a plantation in Louisiana with no electricity or running water, and fashioned his first guitar at age 7, made with a piece of wood, two strings and his mother's hairpins.  Working through all the trials and tribulations it takes to succeed as an artist, his tenacity paid off mightily.  Among his many accolades, Rolling Stone ranked him in the top 30 of its "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and he has also been awarded the Presidential National Medal of Arts.

Tickets for Buddy Guy range in price from $47-$78 and may be purchased online at 505.988.1234 or online at TicketsSantaFe.org
